Forgiveness is a non-negotiable command for every believer. The New Testament mentions “unforgiving” only twice (Romans 1:31; 2 Timothy 3:3), and both times it describes the unrighteous—not those redeemed by Christ. Unforgiveness reflects traits like being untrustworthy and a breaker of peace, which oppose the nature of a regenerated believer.
