Dr. Fred K. Price teaches that forgiveness progressed from the conditional requirements of the Old Covenant to the unconditional grace revealed in Christ (Mark 11:25; Ephesians 4:32). He explains that while the Law demanded forgiveness before receiving mercy, the New Covenant empowers believers to forgive because they are already forgiven through Jesus’ sacrifice (Colossians 3:13). Jesus’ earthly ministry served as a transitional bridge, preparing believers for a life rooted in divine justification rather than human effort (Romans 5:1). Christians are therefore called to spiritual maturity, releasing bitterness and reflecting God’s compassion. Ultimately, forgiveness is shown to be a secured gift in this dispensation of grace, purchased by the blood of Christ (Hebrews 9:12).
