The Believer’s Authority:

  1. Dominion and Stewardship:
    • In Genesis 1:28, God instructed humanity to “fill the earth and subdue it.” This mandate implies both dominion and stewardship.
    • Dominion means ruling and reigning. As believers, we are called to exercise authority over the earth.
    • Stewardship involves responsible care for the environment, recognizing that we are stewards entrusted with its well-being.
  2. Image of God:
    • Our Heavenly Father created us in His image. This includes the authority to make decisions, give orders, and enforce obedience.
    • Understanding our identity as image-bearers empowers us to walk in authority.
  3. Walking in Authority:
    • Many Christians live defeated lives because they forget their God-given authority.
    • We must remember that we are rulers of the earth, representing God’s authority here.
    • By embracing our identity and exercising our authority, we can walk in victory.
In summary, believers have been delegated power, dominion, and authority. Recognizing our stewardship over the earth and understanding our image-bearing status enables us to live out this authority.
