“The Forgiven” by Dr. Frederick K. Price:

Dr. Frederick K. Price explains the key differences between Old Testament and New Testament forgiveness. Under the Mosaic Law, Israel had to turn away from their sins to receive forgiveness (I Kings 8:22-53). In contrast, under the New Covenant, God forgave humanity through the sacrifice of Jesus, allowing Believers to live in a state of forgiveness.

  • Old Testament: Israel needed to ask for forgiveness to receive it.
  • New Testament: Believers must choose to forgive others because God has forgiven them (Ephesians 4:32).
  • God’s forgiveness covers any unintentional sins of Believers.
  • If a Believer stumbles and asks for forgiveness, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse them from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).
