The Holy Spirit is presented as a personal Friend and the Spirit of truth (John 14:26), calling believers to faith, obedience, and sensitivity so they do not grieve the Spirit (Eph. 4:30). Ultimately, a church without active spiritual gifts is described as powerless to impact the world (Acts 1:8).
