This teaching explains that believers receive authority through the new birth (John 1:12) and supernatural ability through the Spirit’s gifts (1 Cor. 12:4–11), while the fruit of the Spirit is cultivated over time (Gal. 5:22–23). The Holy Spirit is presented as a personal Friend and the Spirit of truth (John 14:26), calling believers to faith, obedience, and sensitivity so they do not grieve the Spirit (Eph. 4:30). Ultimately, a church without active spiritual gifts is described as powerless to impact the world (Acts 1:8).
